MX-5 Track Trip – 28th–30th July 2027
A European Track Adventure Just for MX-5s 🟧 VIEW PREVIOUS TRIP PHOTOS
Three days away one brilliant French circuit and a group of people who all have one thing in common — a love of the Mazda MX-5.
It doesnt matter which MX5 model you drive this trip is the ideal way to get away with your car, enjoying the journey to France, spending a full day on track at Circuit de Folembray and having a great social couple of evenings with other MX-5 owners.
This isn’t about racing or proving who is fastest. It’s about enjoying your MX-5 properly in a relaxed environment, travelling with like-minded people and making a great few days of the whole experience.
Wednesday 28th July – UK to Soissons
We’ll meet at Folkestone on Wednesday 28th July before boarding the Eurotunnel for the short crossing to Calais.
Once in France, everyone is free to make their own way down to Soissons. As with all Inspired-Tours trips, we don’t expect everyone to travel around in one big convoy. You can take the straightforward route or make more of the journey and enjoy some of the quieter French roads on the way.
Our base for both nights will be the Best Western Plus Hotel des Francs in Soissons, giving us a comfortable place to relax before and after the track day.
Once checked in, the rest of the afternoon and evening is yours. The idea is to get everyone together, have something to eat, enjoy a few drinks and get to know the other drivers before an early-ish night ready for Folembray the following morning.
Thursday 29th July – Circuit de Folembray Track Day
After breakfast we’ll leave Soissons and make the short drive to the Circuit de Folembray.
Once at the circuit we’ll complete registration and go through the safety briefing and track rules before heading out onto the circuit.
The morning is about allowing everyone to become familiar with the track and find a pace they are comfortable with. Nobody needs to feel pressured to drive beyond their ability — the whole point is to enjoy your MX-5 in an environment where you can experience what the car is capable of without worrying about speed cameras, traffic or somebody pulling out of a junction.
As the day progresses there will be plenty of opportunity for track time, as well as time to come back into the paddock, talk cars, compare notes and enjoy the atmosphere.
Folembray is particularly well suited to cars like the MX-5 — relatively lightweight, great handling and far more about carrying speed through the corners than simply having huge horsepower.
There is a snack bar at the circuit where food and drinks can be purchased during the day. With an open-pit in place allowing you to go out on track as often as you like. No waiting on a session time.
Track activity finishes late afternoon, after which we’ll return to the Best Western Plus Hotel des Francs to freshen up before getting everyone together for our final evening in Soissons. Expect plenty of conversation about missed braking points, questionable lines through corners and why somebody definitely would have been quicker if there hadn’t been another MX-5 in the way.
Friday 30th July – Soissons to Calais & Home
Friday morning is deliberately relaxed. After breakfast we’ll leave Soissons and begin making our way back towards Calais for the Eurotunnel home. Most people usually travel back in small groups — sometimes with the people they arrived with and sometimes with new friends they’ve made over the previous couple of days.
Three days, two nights in France, a full day at Folembray and rather a lot of MX-5s.
What more do you need?
What’s Included
Your trip will include the return Eurotunnel crossing, two nights’ hotel accommodation at the Best Western Plus Hotel des Francs, your Folembray track day, circuit staff and marshals, medical cover at the circuit and Inspired-Tours support throughout the trip. A professional photographer will also be at the circuit capturing the day, giving you the opportunity to get some proper photographs of your MX-5 on track.
Circuit de Folembray currently operates a 95 dB vehicle noise limit, so anyone running a particularly loud aftermarket exhaust should make sure their car complies before travelling .For this particular event we’re keeping things simple:
Mazda MX-5s only.
All standard, modified, daily driver or weekend toys — if it’s an MX-5, you’re welcome.
You don’t need previous track-day experience. The important thing is arriving with a safe, well-maintained car and the right attitude.
