Day 1 – Folkestone to Luxembourg 🇱🇺Approx. 240 miles.
Our adventure begins as we meet at Folkestone at around 8am before boarding the 10.30am Eurotunnel crossing for the short crossing to France. Once on the continent, we head through the beautiful countryside of northern France and Belgium before arriving in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
This first day is all about settling into the tour, getting to know your fellow travellers, and enjoying the freedom of the open road as we begin our journey towards the Alps. We spend our first night at Camping Kockelscheuer, a modern, well-equipped campsite just outside Luxembourg City. With excellent facilities and a peaceful setting, it’s the perfect place to relax before continuing south towards Germany and the Black Forest tomorrow.

Day 2 – Luxembourg to Lake Constance 🇩🇪Approx. 235 miles | Scenic driving day
Today we leave Luxembourg behind and head south through rolling vineyard valleys, historic German countryside, and into the world-famous Black Forest.
This is a relaxed but visually stunning driving day, combining riverside roads, forest climbs, and sweeping alpine scenery as we make our way deeper into southern Germany.
The journey finishes on the shores of Lake Constance (Bodensee), one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe, surrounded by mountains and traditional lakeside towns.
We spend the evening at Camping Wirthshof (Markdorf), a high-quality, well-equipped campsite perfectly located just minutes from the lake. With excellent facilities, easy camper access, and a peaceful setting, it’s the ideal base to relax after a full day on the road and enjoy an evening by the water.

Day 3 – Lake Constance Rest Day 🇩🇪 No drivingÂ
Today is a well-earned rest day on the shores of Lake Constance, giving you time to slow the pace and enjoy one of the most beautiful lake regions in Europe.
This is your chance to relax, explore the local area, or simply enjoy a full day by the water with the group. The region offers a perfect mix of lakeside towns, mountain views, cafés, and swimming spots, making it an ideal pause before we head deeper into the Alps and towards Italy.
Whether you choose to explore nearby villages, take a ferry across the lake, or just unwind at the campsite, today is all about enjoying the surroundings at your own pace.
We stay again at Camping Wirthshof (Markdorf), giving you a comfortable base with excellent facilities, space to relax, and easy access to Lake Constance.
Day 4 – Lake Constance to the Dolomites 🇮🇹Approx. 190 miles | Alpine crossing dayÂ
Today we leave Lake Constance behind and begin our journey into the heart of the Alps as we cross from Germany into Austria and onwards into northern Italy.
The route climbs steadily through breathtaking Alpine scenery, passing crystal-clear lakes, mountain valleys, and iconic high passes before reaching the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites.
This is one of the most visually impressive driving days of the entire tour, with every mile delivering a new backdrop of mountains, forests, and winding alpine roads.
By late afternoon we arrive in the Dolomites, one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in Europe, where we set up camp surrounded by towering peaks and fresh mountain air.
We stay at Camping Seiser Alm (Alpe di Siusi / Castelrotto area), a highly rated Alpine campsite perfectly positioned for exploring the region, with incredible mountain views right from your pitch.
Day 5 – Dolomites to Venice 🇮🇹Approx. 120 miles | Scenic descent from mountains to city
Today we leave the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites behind and descend into the Italian plains as we make our way towards one of the most iconic cities in the world — Venice.
The drive is a relaxed and scenic transition day, moving from towering mountain landscapes to rolling countryside, vineyards, and historic Italian towns.
By the afternoon we arrive near Venice, where you have time to explore at your own pace. Wander the canals, bridges, and famous squares, or simply relax and take in the atmosphere of this unique floating city.
We spend the night just outside Venice at Camping Venezia Village, a well-located campsite with easy access into the city by public transport, making it simple to enjoy an evening in Venice without the stress of driving or parking.
Day 6 – Venice Rest Day 🇮🇹
Relaxed day | No driving required
Today is a full rest day in the Venice region, giving you time to explore one of the most unique and famous cities in the world at your own pace.
With no driving required, you can take your time to enjoy the canals, bridges, and historic streets that make Venice so special. Wander through St. Mark’s Square, explore hidden alleyways, take a gondola ride, or simply sit by the water and soak up the atmosphere.
This is a chance to slow the pace of the trip, enjoy Italian food and culture, and experience Venice properly without rushing.
We stay again at Camping Venezia Village, giving you easy and direct access into Venice by public transport while keeping the comfort and flexibility of your camper base just outside the city.
Day 7 – Venice to Lake Garda 🇮🇹Approx. 110 miles | Relaxed scenic driving day
Today we leave the Venice region behind and head west towards the stunning shores of Lake Garda, Italy’s largest and most beautiful lake.
The route takes us through peaceful Italian countryside, vineyards, and historic towns, offering a relaxed and enjoyable driving day after our time in Venice.
As we arrive at Lake Garda, the scenery opens up into crystal-clear water surrounded by mountains and charming lakeside villages. This is one of the most iconic destinations in northern Italy and a perfect place to unwind on the final leg of the journey.
We spend the night at Camping Bella Italia (Peschiera del Garda), a high-quality lakeside campsite with excellent facilities, swimming pools, and direct access to the lake — ideal for relaxing, swimming, or exploring the local area on foot or by bike.
Day 8 – Lake Garda Rest Day 🇮🇹Relaxed dayÂ
Today is a final rest day on the shores of Lake Garda, giving you time to slow down and fully enjoy one of Italy’s most iconic lake destinations.
With no driving required, this is your chance to relax at the campsite, explore the lakeside towns, or simply enjoy the mountain backdrop and crystal-clear waters that make Lake Garda so special.
You can spend the day swimming, cycling along the lakefront, taking a boat trip, or visiting nearby villages — or simply unwind with the group and enjoy the final full day of the tour in a stunning setting.
We remain at Camping Bella Italia (Peschiera del Garda), a premium lakeside campsite with excellent facilities and direct access to the lake, making it the perfect base for a relaxed final day.
Day 9 – Lake Garda to Zurich 🇨ðŸ‡Approx. 210 miles | Scenic Alpine driving day
Today we leave the shores of Lake Garda and begin our journey north into Switzerland. As we climb back into the Alps, the route treats us to breathtaking mountain scenery, crystal-clear lakes, and winding roads through some of Europe’s most spectacular landscapes.
Crossing into Switzerland, we continue towards the vibrant city of Zurich, where stunning lakeside views meet traditional Swiss charm. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy one final evening in the Alps before beginning the journey back towards France and the UK.
We spend the night at Camping Fischers Fritz, a popular lakeside campsite on the outskirts of Zurich, offering excellent facilities and easy access to the city and Lake Zurich.
Day 10 – Zurich to Troyes 🇫🇷Approx. 245 milesÂ
Today we leave Switzerland behind and continue our journey west into France. The route takes us through picturesque countryside, rolling vineyards, and charming rural villages as we make our way towards the historic city of Troyes in the heart of the Champagne region.
After several days of mountain scenery, today’s drive offers a more relaxed pace with beautiful open landscapes and the chance to enjoy one final evening in France before returning to Calais tomorrow.
We spend the night at Camping de Troyes, a well-equipped campsite located on the banks of the River Seine, just a short walk from the city’s beautiful medieval centre, making it the perfect place to round off the adventure.
Day 11 – Troyes to Calais 🇫🇷Approx. 235 miles | Journey home
Our final day takes us north through the beautiful French countryside as we make our way back towards Calais. Enjoy one last scenic drive, reflecting on the unforgettable memories made throughout the tour—from the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites and the canals of Venice to the tranquil shores of Lake Garda and the stunning Swiss Alps.
Arriving in Calais, we’ll check in for the Eurotunnel crossing before returning to the UK, bringing another incredible Inspired-Tours adventure to a close.
The full price of this adventure is £1189 per vehicle and includes driver & 1 passenger. Extra passengers can be added at an extra coast. The trips is dog friendly if you are bringing a pooch they are welcome for an extra £125. The price is based on traveling in a vehicle of similar size to VW Transporter. For larger vehicles there will be an additional cost.
